The eight dancers are paired off male and female, standing beside but facing the opposite direction of their partner and holding their right hands together up at eye level while their left hands are on their hips. The couples are arranged on stage in a cross pattern. A few heads of spectators are visible in the foreground at the bottom of the photograph.
