[Illustrations in Codex Seraphinianus]

Photographs of illustrations from a book titled "Codex Seraphinianus" held by UNT Special Collections. Image 1 depicts a scene where alien-like figures, with yellow and white mottled heads in the shape of a football on a column, are pulling human skin onto a skeleton lying down on a bed. There are books piled and arranged under the mattress to hold it up. There are more skeletons waiting their turn and some newly made humans looking at themselves in mirrors. There are hooks along the back with a hat and three human skins hung up. At the top is a secret code that the entire book is written in. Image 2 is a chart of creatures with lots of different shapes and features that look familiar but not quite real. At the top, under the drawings as labels, and as paragraphs beneath them all is a secret code that the entire book is written in. Image 3 is of a dual-sided rhinoceros; the larger side has a figure rising up where its horn should be and the figure is holding a pole with stings and hooks on it. The hooks are peeling back the skin and revealing a second smaller rhinoceros …

Photographs of illustrations in "The Elizabethan Zoo: A Book of Beasts Both Fabulous and Authentic" held by UNT Special Collections. The first image is of a creature with the head of a human, breasts, scales, paws, hooves, and a tail that is called a Lamia. The second image's central focus is a tapered passage about the "Mantichora", or manticore, including different names and descriptions for the creature. The face of the illustration is visible on the other page. Image 3, is of a manticore, spelled Mantichora in the book. It has a lion's body, the head of a man with a wide mouth and rows of teeth, and a spiked barb at the end of the tail. Image 4, is of a rhinoceros with added details. There are layers of 'armor' on it that does not resemble the way a rhino truly looks, though the form as a whole is accurate to the rhino.

[NTSNC bulletin open on book cradle]

Photographs of a cross section of one the NTSNC bulletins held by UNT Special Collections. It is one of four that are bound together in a single volume. Image 1, a list of officers separated by the organizations they are a part of. Image 2 and 3, a handwritten note at the top reads "Organized Oct. 12, 1902" and lists the two sponsors of the Mary Arden Club and the Current Literature Club. Image 4, the pages on the left are weighted down by a heavy string and there is a stamp on the title page that reads "North Texas State Teachers College Library" and a small note at the bottom of the page that reads "Application made for entry as second-class mail -- at Denton Postoffice."
