A photograph print showing Santa Fe (ATSF) gas-electric # 152, on train #46, one car, passing through the Wichita Mtns. near Lugert, OK. King Mtn. is in the background. These trains make 519-mile runs daily between Wichita, KS. and San Angelo, TX. Until 1929, this line was the Kansas City, Mexico & Orient RR. Pictured track is part of a 3-mile relocation due to the increase in height of the Lugert dam.

The daily run was 519 miles between Wichita, KS, and San Angelo, TX: two sets of equipment were required, Motors M-160, M-161 and M-162 were assigned so that one at a time could be overhauled or be available for emergencies.

It was to have been the first state show for young Jimmy Morris, 12, of Hobart. It was different story for Nick Ferris, 13, of Cooperton. He has been showing since he was eight years old, when he took over from his older brother, Lavon, who for a dozen years was a familiar name in county and state stock shows."
