Photograph used for a story in the Oklahoma City Times newspaper. Caption: "How dead is dead? Try an amusement park in the middle of winter for size. That's about as deserted a place as can be found. There's something about a wild ride that doesn't go with wintertime winds. Wedgewood Park has an even more deserted look about it than some. A couple of caretakers are on the property, but they don't have a lot to do. They touch up, paint a little bit and keep out people who don't belong there. Outside of that, nothing goes on. Oh, the field rats, thick at this time of year, made an effort to find a home there earlier. But this proved to be a bad choice - everything's shut down and cold, so the animals who escaped freezing moved on. Photograph used for a story in the Oklahoma City Times newspaper. Caption: "All St. Francis de Sales seminary needs now is furniture and students. The healthiest part of the building is done, with little left but details. And Oklahoma Catholics ca be proud. The modern seminary, a precedent breaker in many ways, won't be opened until May, but it's grabbed a sure-fire spot as a city showplace. From the dramatic statue of St. Fancis at the front door to the ultra modern kitchen in the living quarters, it's a gem. Almost every Catholic in the state can claim some little corner for his own, too....Bishop Eugene J. McGuinness had long dreamed of a seminary for the state, but he didn't live to see its completion.
