A companion, pinned inside the car for more than three hours, was critically injured. Dead on arrival at Mercy Hospital was Johnny Alan Austin, 19, of 3228 SW 44, driver of the auto. Inserious condition is Bruce Beard, 17, 1517 SW 69. Beard was pinned in the front seat by the engine block and other car parts on the passenger side. Police Sgt. Jim Clark said Bruce told officers the accident occurred around 3 a.m. Clark said airport police from Will Rogers World Airport, did not discover the car until 6:30 a.m. Traffic along Meridian was sparse, he said.....Major S. W Stephens, head of the traffic division, said the death would not be ruled as a traffic fatality because Merdian is blockaded at SW 74 and is considered a closed road..."

No, but motorists thought so Friday as they drove by and saw a man on the new 10-story National Foundation Life Bldg., at 3535 NW 58. The man in the picture isn't a paintwer - he's a window washer. White paint covered the entire exterior of the new building after painters sprayed the concrete pillars seperation the windows. The lone window washer needed thousand of buckets of water as he followed painters around the building Saturday and some of the white paint was still there. So was the window washer."
