Access:
Use of this item is restricted to the UNT Community
Recording of Adam Stansbie's Isthmus. This is a work for electroacoustics that includes 3 untitled movements. The sound material for this composition was derived entirely from solo and ensemble performances of three string instruments: violin, viola, and cello. The electronic transformations become more complex throughout the movements until the sound is almost purely virtual.

Recording of Diana Simpson's Broken Nerve. This is a work for electronics that the composer considers a soundscape. The inspiration for this work came from electricity and the fact that it can be perceived and experienced in so many different forms. The composer wanted to create a piece which presented electricity as an animate presence. This piece explores the notion of "flux" associated with electricity. The composer gives thanks to the technical department of the RSAMD, Glasgow for their help in recording arc welding.

Recording of Pierre Marietan's Voix captives, résonnantes, multiplles. This work consists of 3 untitled movements, each of which contain some vocalizations that were recorded by the composer himself. Recording of Pierre Mariétan's Diablorence. This work was inspired by the story of Orpheus and Eurydice and portrays the orchestra as the main character of the work. The soloists and the sound engineer process the entire sound world with the goal of being heard as music and only music. The orchestra performing this work is the Orchestre Philharmonique De Radio France, conducted by Laurent Cuniot. The composer also credits Frédéric Antoine as being responsible for the "noises" in the piece.

Recording of Juan Parra Cancino's Lonquimay.89. The goal of this piece was to create a sound result that would be as coherent as possible, allowing for the composer and listener to focus and hear the micro and macro level structures generated. The title of this piece comes from the name of a region in the south of Chile as well as a volcano. The composer visited this volcano and some of the sound sequences in this piece were created to remind the composer of the feelings he had when staring at the volcano.
