Interview with Oscar Houser, Jr., an army veteran from Tennessee. This interview delves into his experiences as an Army nurse and anesthetist in Vietnam, 1972-73. Topics include: his decision to enter nurse training and the military; attending anesthesia school at William Beaumont Medical Center, 1972; his attitudes toward Vietnam War; being assigned to 95th Evacuation Hospital, China Beach, Vietnam; camp living conditions; work at Da Nang and Pleiku; the treatment of battle casualties; work with Montagnards and Vietnamese medical personnel; social life and recreational activities; morale and drug problems; personal relationships among camp personnel; communications with home; decision to stay in the military; and the effect on Vietnam experience on his later life.

Interview with John Reas, a Navy WWII veteran and POW from New Albany, Indiana, who survived the sinking of the USS Houston (CA-30). Reas discusses his assignment to the Houston and prewar operations in the Pacific, the start of the war and convoy duty, being bombed by 54 Japanese planes, the Battle of Sunda Strait, the sinking, capture by the Japanese, experiences in internment at Bicycle Camp in Batavia, transfer to Thanbyuzayat, work on the Burma Railway, the USS Houston Survivors List, liberation, and life after the war. In appendix is the USS Houston Survivors list, letters of his regarding the list, brief accounts written by Reas of different experiences in the war, a letter by Lanson H. Harris confirming how the list was given to OSS officers, and a photo of Reas' wallet that he carried through the war.

Interview with Rudolph Garza, a former member of the Civilian Conservation Corps from Donna, Texas, regarding his experiences and memories of participating in the CCC during the Great Depression and living in camps.

Interview with George Payne, a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps from Pilot Point, Texas. Payne discusses his family background, growing up and grade school, joining the CCC in Denton, going to Arizona and building a trail in Bontia National Park, leaving the CCC and joining a second time, assignment to Baggs, Wyoming, operating a bulldozer, recreation, camp facilities and organization, food, leave, pay, classes, new guys and hazing, and some reflections on the impact of the Corps.

Interview with Lloyd Shipman, a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps from Dallas, Texas. Shipman discusses his family and education, the impact of the Great Depression, joining the CCC and assignment to Bartlett, Texas, work as a typist, discipline and regimentation in the camp, daily routine, education services, recreation, and his thoughts on the impact of the CCC. In appendix are a chapter from an autobiography by Shipman, and two poems that he wrote.

Interview with Gale E. Nevill, a Army WWII veteran from Houston, Texas. Nevill discusses his family background and upbringing, jobs in the oil business, joining the National Guard, attending Rice University, getting commissioned, overseeing a Civilian Conservation Corps camp, working through the Depression, activation and assignment to 6th Army HQ, deployment to Brisbane, 6th Army operations in the South Pacific and Philippines, the end of the war and life afterwards.

Interview with Marguerite Holcomb, a former employee of the Nocona Boot Company from 1952 to 1976, concerning her employment at the Nocona Boot Company in Nocona, Texas, and her recollections of its founder, Ms. Enid Justin. Holcomb discusses employer-employee relations, boot-making, fashion changes, union activities, expansion and factory outlets, and Ms. Enid's civic activities.

Interview with Val. F. Borum, a Navy veteran, concerning his experiences while aboard the submarine USS Blower in the Pacific Theater during World War II. Submarine School,.
