Recording of Kazuko Narita's Fluidité. This is an electroacoustic and acousmatic work intended to be played by several loudspeakers. The composer has included a schematic for how the eight speakers should be placed in relation to the listener. The piece is constructed of two contrasting parts: the first being an overall crescendo movement which leads to a burst of sound, and the second is characterized by a slow movement.

Cantos Rituales

Recording of Manuel Rocha Iturbide's Cantos Rituales. The main idea behind this work was to search for different kinds of field sound recordings based in prayers and ritual singing from all around the world. These recordings were then processed through a computer and combined in order to make this composition. The composer describes this piece as a hymn dedicated to all humankind, where they are seeking a spiritual unity common to all, regardless of their culture and beliefs.

Retroscena

Recording of Francesco Galante's Retroscena. This work revolves around the voice of Carmelo Bene, Italian actor, and creates an "acousmatic theatre" by means of electroacoustic music. Voice samples were used as well as segments from Bene's studies around Russian and Soviet poetry, specifically the works of Alexander Blok and Vladimir Majakovskij. The composer dedicates this work to Carmelo Bene and considers this piece a sound exploration into the "backstage" of Bene's voice experience.

Recording of Olle Aberg's INIT. This work represents the idea of initiation and starting a new phase of life. The composer states that the change is not perceptible until several days/months/years have gone by, but then by looking back we see it as "initiation". The composer has segmented this work into four parts: 1. preparations are made, 2. looking back to old things, 3. new things will appear, and 4. summary and rest.

Recording of Konstantinos Karathanasis' De ligno Chalybeque. All of the sound materials used in this piece were derived from a cello, processed by custom-made algorithms, and finally mastered in ProTools. The composer thanks ASCAP and SEAMUS for commissioning this work. It premiered during the 2003 National Conference of the Society for Electroacoustic Music at the University of Arizona.

Recording of Dirk Stromberg's Gilgamesh. This work was commissioned by Musik Gavleborg. This piece was inspired by the story of Gilgamesh which was written four thousand years ago. The story is considered a heroic epic and includes many adventures and battles. It ends with him finding the fountain of wisdom and asking timeless, philosophical questions.

Recording of Daniel Barreiro's Arrivals. This is an electroacoustic composition that explores possible approaches to the manipulation of musical time. The sounds used in the composition have different origins, amongst which stone, water, shells, and bell-like sounds stand out. The name of the composition relates to the sudden appearance of sounds with a sharp attack profile, which usually start the sections and play a structural role in the final section.

This piece was composed from "low fi" recordings made during a vacation on the Uruguayan coast when the composers daughter was one year old and starting to speak. The sound materials come from her first words and sounds and the composer dedicates this piece to her.

Recording of Hugo Druetta's Siguiente proximo. This is an electroacoustic composition for 2-channel tape and was premiered at the 2003 Synthése Festival. The title, which roughly translates to "following next", describes the character of the piece. This piece is divided into four sections, the first three presenting different characteristics while the fourth is a recapitulation. The composer states that the raw materials came from the Kurzweil K-2000 sampler, however, there are instrumental sounds.
