Patent for a new and improved fumigator. This design "compris[es] the closed vessel mounted on legs and provided with the removable cover, the fire-box having legs resting upon the bottom of the vessel, the inlet near the bottom and the outlet near the top, and the bellow connected to the inlet" (lines 77-83).

Patent for a new and improved coupling for railroad cars. This design "is to provide means for setting and supporting the pin and link of the ordinary car-coupler, so that cars will be automatically coupled when brought together; and it consists in a frame or holder for the coupling-pin and a frame or holder for the coupling-link" (lines 11-17).

Patent for a new and improved churn-power. This design "relates particularly to a vertical single-dasher reciprocating churn, and has for its object to provide a churn-power of the character that shall be simple and durable in construction, one that will give a maximum length of stroke, and one that will always keep the dasher elevated when not in operation" (lines 7-14).

Patent for a new and improved coupling for railroad cars. This design consists in "a draw-head provided with a recess having an enlargement at its central portion, a series of vertical jaws on each side of said enlarged portion of the recess pivotally mounted at their lower end in the draw-head, springs connecting each jaw with its corresponding jaw in the opposite series, and means for opening the jaws" (lines 13-20).

Patent for a new and improved back-band buckle. This design "is to provide a simple and inexpensive back-band buckle adapted to protect the sides of an animal against rubbing, and capable of enabling the tug-chain to be readily secured thereto and removed therefrom and of securely holding the same without liability of the chain becoming accidentally unfastened" (lines 10-17).

Patent for a new and improved brace. This design consists in "[t]he combination . . . of the cistern or its equivalent having internal circumferential seats and the brace-sections having edge flanges fitted to said seats and having such flanges cut away at one end, whereby the section may fit at one end in the end of the adjacent section" (lines 30-36).

Patent for a new and improved vehicle-top. This design "is to simplify, improve, and cheapen the construction of vehicle-tops . . . and enable the sliding curtain to be more readily and securely fastened to the standards and bows of the carriage-top" (lines 12-18). To this end, it consists in "[t]he combination of the supporting-bows provided with longitudinal grooves, and the curtain-carrying frame comprising flat flexible strips arranged in the said grooves and provided at intervals with inwardly-extending plates having perforations, and the parallel cross-pieces secured to the plates" (lines 84-90).

Patent for a topical remedy for the local treatment of rheumatism, neuralgia, paralysis and gout.

Patent for "to utilize a heretofore waste product, and by means of a dry process to reduce the same to fine particles, which, being capable of felting, constitute stock" (lines 14-18).

Patent for a new and improved trace-carrier. This design "is to provide the trace-carrier with a locking-brace, which is held in a closed position by the chain, which prevents all possibility of the chain from becoming detached from the carrier while in use" (lines 16-20). To this end, it consists, "with the body having a strap-fastener and an outwardly and upwardly extending hook, of a locking-plate, which is hinged at its upper end to the upper portion of the body, and its lower end provided with an inner perforated projection through which the said hook passes, and a shorter projection" (lines 78-85).

Patent for a new and improved hen's nest. This design "relates to that type of hen-nest wherein a tilting platform is employed to protect the setting hen from intrusion while permitting her to freely pass to and from the nest. The objects of [the] invention are to improve the prior construction and to provide novel means whereby the hen setting or hatching chamber is separated from the passage containing the tilting platform by a division-wall having a rear doorway, in such manner that the eggs are isolated and in a measure hid and protected while the hen is seeking food" (lines 8-20).

Patent for a new and improved hay-press. This design "consists in a horizontal frame having at its open end a pivoted and weighted abutment, a plunger adapted to reciprocate in the frame, a toggle-lever connecting the plunger with the closed end of the frame, and means for actuating the toggle-lever" (lines 14-20).

Patent for a new and improved roof screw. This design consists, "[a]s a new article of manufacture, [in] a screw consisting of a threaded shank having an integral head, an enlarged collar or flange on said shank below the head thereon, and an elastic cushion on the shank immediately below the enlarged collar or flange, for the purpose described" (lines 60-66).

Patent for a new and improved washing-machine. This design is "to provide a machine having an oscillating and revolving rubber, means for securing the rubber to the operating-shaft, and to provide bearings for said shaft which may be adjusted to compensate for any wear of parts. A further object is to provide adjustable legs, whereby one side of the machine may be raised or lowered, thus decreasing or increasing the pressure of the rubber upon the articles being washed" (lines 17-27).

Patent for "an improvement in center tables, seeking to provide a simple convenient construction of extension-table, Which can be easily extended or contracted, by which the objectionable center leg can be dispensed with, and in which the main or center portion Will be firmly supported at all times" (lines 7-13).

Patent for a new and improved running-gear. This design consists in "[t]he combination, with the front and rear axles, of the tubular connection, the connection between the tubular coupling and the head-block, formed with ears, the swiveled fifth-wheel carrying ears, the connecting-pin held in said ears, and the guard attached to the ends of the head-block, to the under side of the tubular coupling, and to the connection between the coupling and the head-block at the forward end thereof" (lines 89-98).

Patent for "improved means for effecting the desired movements of the gun, to elevate the latter for discharge, and retract it for loading and concealment" (lines 19-24).

Patent for a new and improved sash-holder. This design consists in "[t]he combination, with the wire having an inclined portion and offsets . . . of the plate separate therefrom and having a vertical portion adapted to be secured to a window-frame, a horizontal portion to which the upper end of the wire is secured, a depending portion, and a roller free to ride upon the inclined portion of the wire and formed with a hub and rubber bands, one upon each end of the hub and sprung into grooves in the hub" (lines 84-94).

Patent for a new and improved plow. This design consists in a plow-beam "having a downwardly-projecting extension or arm at its rear end and a plow-standard pivoted to the beam in front of said extension, of a plate connecting said standard and extension and adapted to slide vertically thereon and an adjusting screw for operating said plate" (lines 1-7).

Patent for a new and improved horse-detacher. This design "is to make a compound single-tree which, with certain attachments, will hold the traces securely or allow them to be drawn off the hooks if the horse should run; also, to hold up the shafts while the horse is passing therefrom" (lines 15-20). To this end, it consists in "[t]he combination, with the spring-held vibratory draft-rod having the loop, of the strap and the shaft, the latter carrying the oppositely-placed stirrup-arm and treadle-arm" (lines 74-78).

Patent for a new and improved rod for wagon gates. This design is "first, to provide a rod that can be readily attached or detached to the end-gate of any wagon or vehicle; second, to provide a rod that will effectually and rigidly hold the end-gate in position and afford practical facility whereby the end-gates of vehicles can be quickly opened or closed and detached from the wagon-bed or placed in their normal position therein" (lines 15-23).

Patent for a new and improved quilting-frame for sewing machines. This design "is to combine the parts by which a quilter is suspended from a ceiling and connected with a sewing-machine" (lines 15-18). To this end, it consists in "[t]he track having a bead on the inner side of top, an eye at each end, and suspended on an incline from the ceiling by two wires at each end, said wires diverging from the track-eyes to the ceiling, in combination with the head-block arranged on the opposite side of track from the sewing-machine arm and carrying rolls suspended from a block" (lines 78-86).

Patent for a new and improved cultivator. This design consists in "[t]he combination . . . of the main frame and plow or plows, curved plate slotted and perforated . . . and rigidly secured to said frame, a horizontal lever passing through the slot of the same and pivoted to the main frame, a spring-bolt and operating devices, a vertical bar pivotally suspended from said lever, and a carrying-wheel having one of its spindles bearing in the lower end of the bar, together with a depending bar secured rigidly to the frame and having a pivotal depending link" (lines 1-12).
