Caption: "Flight surgeons attending a five-day seminar on problems associated with flying were up in the air today, without leaving the ground - at the Federal Aviation Administration Center in Oklahoma City. Some 75 doctors from all parts of the country are recieving a heavy dose of physiological training ranging from a stint in a high altitude chamber - to experience oxygen shortage - to revolving in cockpits to simulate space disorientation (vertigo.) Reporter Tries A reporter and photographer "hitched a ride" in the revolving cockpit to see what's up, but found "up" to be an elusive condition. Dr. William E. Collins, chairman of the psycholoical laboratory and disorientation research studies, explained that there are three chambers within the ear that are suppose to give the brain messages that enable a person to keep his balance and to perform various functions. (photo tag: "All conditions are go," reporter Ervin Watson signals as flight begins.)"

The monorail, naturally, is attracting a lot of attention which leads fair officials to think there will be no dearth of riders when the fair opens Saturday. The monorail cars will operate from a station on the second floor of the grandstand over a 1 1/4-mile circuit which will give visitors to the fair scenic view of the prinicpal exibit areas. There will be three trains - one green, one red and the other golden yellow - carrying from 50 to 60 passengers each. Fare for both adults and children will be 75 cents or one bargain ticket. This year the monorail will move slowly to give riders a better view. In years to come fair officials hope to add more stations and use it as transportation insiode the fairgrounds. Its $300,000 cost was paid by the fair."
