Windbreak
Photograph of a windbreqak and post lot of Black Locust trees planted in 1937. Trees have been cultivated and have attained an excellent growth. Owner first cooperated with the Checotah Camp who furnished labor to set out the trees and he is now a cooperator and member of the Soil Conservation District Board of Supervisors.

Photograph of crop rotation, terracing and contour cultivation. The terrace was built in 1940. Two rows of sorghum, one row of peas, and cotton on the left. Cotton will average ¾ of bale per acre and the cooperator says he would not have made more than ½ bale per acre without the terraces. Mr. C. H. Lewis is picking peas between corn rows. OK-8261.

Photograph of a new channel type terrace constructed with two Fresno scrapers and two teams (2 drivers and 2 dumpers). The terrace is 200 feet long constructed in 18 hours by the owner. Excess run off is carried into a natural drain. OK-8226.
