[Postcard from William Dodd to the Moore Family, September 11, 1888]
This document is from the Charles B. Moore Collection. It is a postcard written by William Dodd, Mary Ann Moore's father. Dodd writes to Charles and Mary Ann, or 'Sis' as the family affectionately calls her, informing the Moore's of the goings-on in Gallatin, Tennessee. He details that the family is all well at present and notes that they have received their most current letter. Dodd discusses that they have received a lot of rain and are awaiting a clear day. He states that Dinkie's children are in school and that they have a good teacher, Mr. Griffin. Dodd closes the card by informing the Moore family that Dinkie will write in a few days to continue correspondence with them.

Both of their heads are bowed in prayer, a basket sitting on the ground between them, with a laden wooden wheelbarrow set beside the woman and a pitchfork stuck in the ground beside the man. Postcard of the Bryn Mawr Fire Department at their new station, a two-story brick building with a belfry on the left. At the front of the station, there are three garage doors at the base, with a balcony above. The fire fighters are lined up with two horse-drawn wagons outside of their respective garage doors. On the back of the postcard, the sender has left a handwritten message that says, "As there is no principal strut here I will send you this. I am at St. David, Pa. These is nothing here but the station and a few houses, no stores. I expect to go down to Atlantic City this week."
