Bedouin ensemble
A) Abaya (robe) of black polyester. Large, rectangular, almost square garment with center-front opening. Undefined neckline, straight across back, and straight down on either side of neck. Armholes at upper edges of sides. Unlined. Label at inside center back below neckline with Arabic script. B) Tarha (shawl/head cover) of black polyester net/mesh. Large rectangular panel, one edge of which has applied band of black with gold edging and foliate form along the length. That edge is to from the "front" of the tarha, with the band forming the edging to frame the face, and is sewn together below chin. No labels or tags in garment. C) Niqab (face veil) of black polyester with beadwork. Black velvet head-band/ribbon at top, from which hangs the niqab from three black braided cords at nose and either side of face. The face-covering veil is formed of a roughly rectangular piece of fine black polyester mesh, folded over at top to create a "flap"/2nd layer of cloth over the face. Along the lower edge of the "flap" is beaded fringe band composed of circular silver beads and dark blue tubular beads forming a "zig-zag" line along the edge. The under layer of the veil is …

Oral History Interview with Paul R. Nixon
The National Museum of the Pacific War presents an oral interview with Paul R. Nixon. Nixon grew up in Kenya. After reporting for duty in Nairobi, he enlisted in the Army at 20 in Eritrea. He was assigned as an engineer near Cairo, Egypt. While on guard duty, he saw Faruk I, King of Egypt. His work involved mostly civil engineering. He won a trip to Palestine. After visiting, he then traveled through Iran and Iraq by plane to assist in building an airport in Dhahran, Arabia. Although VJ Day occurred while the work was still being laid out, the team still went forward with the work. The surveying team had to move out of the ARAMCO facilities when ships brought the construction team to the future airport. Then the surveying team went to a location halfway between Cairo and Dhahran, Duwaid, to built another emergency airport. He is sent by land back to Dhahran so that he can be a guide for the return trip. Then Nixon returned to Cairo. From Cairo he traveled to Alexandria, then to France and Belgium. Oral History Interviews with Howard Yergin, January 1986
Interview with Howard Yergin, an employee of Caltex Petroleum Corporation from New York City. Yergin discusses his career with the company, including his education and Army service, hiring by Caltex, move to Shanghai in 1948 and business conducted there, businessmen who helped reestablish Caltex's Chinese market after WWII, fleeing China in 1949, attempts at recouping capital from the Chinese government, operations in Hong Kong, changes in the oil market over the years, corporate financing, internal reorganization, OPEC, Persian Gulf economies, South African operations, the tanker fleet, and the company's move from New York to Dallas.
