The new 'Grenelle II' laws are presented in the French Parliament. The Grenelle II (2010) follows the Grenelle I (2007) and a second public consultation round with representatives of large companies. Detailed plans are presented for building, transport and energy sector. Local authorities are asked to play a more important and facilitating role. The new law package contains six pillars and contains the 'outlines' and 'logistics' of the application on regional and local level: - 1. Improving the Energetic Performance of Buildings. Among the measures are : insisting on 'Batiments a Basse Consommation' (BBC, < 50 KW/H/m2 per year) for new buildings and to reduce the consumption of existing buildings by 38% untill 2020. - 2. Creating a change in Transport Use. Among the measures presented are : speeding up the process of public transport infrastructure, insisting local public authorities on offering 'lease-bikes' and car-sharing programs, and subvention of electric and hybrid car development. - 3. Reducing significantly Energy Consumption and Carbon Emissions. Measurements foreseen are : Obligation of all enterprises with over 500 employees and municipalities with more than 500.000 inhabitants to calculate CO2 emissions on a yearly bases. -4. Clipping from a newsletter dated October 1, 1846 that includes a letter from Huth & Co stating that Texas has good soil, the climate is healthy and all are thriving and states that Pfanner must have been motivated by something other than truth to say such bad things about Texas in his previously published letter. The writer goes on to explain the process of distributing land and refrains from explaining why Pfanner's last letter was written from Mexico and not Texas. Letter from [Ludwig] Huth to [Ferdinand] Louis and Albert [Huth] questioning why he has not received responses yet. Included is a copy of a letter from the widow of Anton Gsell certifying that she is, in fact, his widow. He also mentioned a new law that would restrict who could deal with the immigration business. Letter from [Ferdinand Louis Huth] to [Henri] Castro. He first discusses the states of finances relating to Elliot and Callaghan and laments that he has not enough cash to purchase the necessary supplies but he states that he purchased two cows and a wagon. He also says that Mr. Solms and his wife have arrived and will be getting their fathers to come also. Also, letter to W. Elliot regarding two dollars' worth of bacon. Also, document regarding their lack of flour and asking someone to bring some next week. Pages 208 (verso), 209, and 210 (recto) of letter book.

Letter from H[enri] Castro to [Ferdinand] Louis Huth assuring him that he is writing twice a month and stating that Huth's letters are not reaching him. He also dictates his wishes for the construction of his house and gardens and states that he expects to bring with him a large number of families with money when he returns.
