Herrera requesting Herrera's support for the nomination of his friend Oscar Laurel from Council Number 12 of Laredo, Texas for the office of President General of the League. Vela writes, "may I be permitted to respectfully request your aid and influence in behalf of my personal friend Oscar Laurel." Towards the bottom of the letter, there is a portion in Spanish that reads: "...please command me. As they say at the border, I request this of you as a man and as a good friend, and remember that one favor with another favor is repaid."

Letter from Manuel Angel Colon, dated October 23, 1976. The governor of New Jersey has announced the renaming of the International Airport in Newark. Colon, on behalf of LULAC, has submitted the suggestion of the Roberto Clemente International Airport.

Letter from Douglas M. Herrera to his father, John J. Herrera, dated April 13, 1971 and mailed from Merida, Yucatan, to Houston, Texas. Douglas wishes Herrera a happy birthday and describes his travels in Mexico and plans to visit the Mayan temples.

Letter to Mr. and Mrs. John J. Herrera from their son, Douglas M. Herrera, dated October 13, 1968. Douglas describes watching the Olympic Games in Mexico, and his plans to move to a different apartment near the Mexican university he is attending. The letter switches from Spanish to English. Douglas explains, “I guess I’ve murdered the family tongue enough for one letter so I’ll revert to a bit of jolly ole English.”

The front of the card has a color illustration of holly and Christmas bells with the text "Merry Christmas" in the top right corner. the interior of the card contains the text "To wish you the best at Christmas and all through the year". The handwritten note says, "We wish you with much affection Blanca, Paty, Blanca y Freddy S. Galvorro."

Letter from Gustavo dated June 13, 1964. On one side of the paper is a hand colored border with "The Wolf and the Seven Kids" written in pencil. The reverse of the paper has a handwritten note that translate to, "Lady I am in search of a home and you along with my kids are going to come with me, whether you want to or not and I could care less who opposes. Gustavo."
