Recording of Manuel Ramos Negrete's Suite Paramo. This work was inspired by the novel 'Pedro Páramo' by Mexican author, Juan Rulfo. The interest of this work lies in it's musicality and poetry, which persist throughout the text. The situations which this piece captures are of a universal nature: resentment, guilt, anger, eroticism, fidelity, and death. This piece was commissioned by Mercier MP Daniel Turp, to whom the work was also dedicated.

Recording of Costas Mantzoros' La terrible presencia. This is a work for female voice and tape that is part of a collection of short works on Lorca's poems. The poem used for this piece is "El divan del Tamarit" by Federico Garcia.

This work, composed and played through a multi-channel system, deals with the unconscious; a reflection on sensations drawn from original sounds of Buenos Aires recorded at various times and then transformed with GRM Tools.

Recording of Leopoldo Amigo and Miguel Molina's Mensaje Electroacustico de Navidad de S.M. a la Nacion. This work was created from a voice that belongs to a hypothetical King who is subliminally transmitting a message to the audience on Christmas Eve. It is meant to be broadcast on December 24th to families in front of the television.

The words provide the sonorous and rhythmical material of the piece and, simultaneously they become itself loud poetry. The music is sometimes an instrumentation of the text and, other times the text is music.

Recording of Pekka Siren and Agnieszka Waligórska's El Coronista de.... This work contains field recordings in the highlands of Spain and around the village, Sallant de Gallego. The intention of this work was to create acoustical scores from the photographs and visuals captured during these trips to Spain. This composition is for solo tape.

Recording of Abril Padilla's Lugares de Antiguas vecindades. This work was commissioned by the City of Zaragoza, Spain, following the MAP residency of the association Nurseries of Young Artists of Europe. This piece reflects the sonic impressions that the city produced during the composer's residency between 2003 and 2004. The composer has created a stereo version as well as a quadraphonic version.

The visuals of the video include the imagery of a naked woman as well as the face of the woman speaking. There are also visuals of sea life that are shown throughout as well as bookending the video as a whole.

Recording of Andrés Lewin-Richter's Caminando... part III. This work consists of 3 parts that are meant to be played continuously. It was commissioned by the Spanish National Radio and the Spanish Center for Contemporary Music. It celebrates the 100th birthday of Nicolas Guillen, a Cuban poet, whose voice has been used in the piece. The title means walking and is meant to reference the "walk" of life.

Recording of Adolfo Núñez's Oscura Frontera Milenaria. This composition was heavily inspired by poetic text taken from the book "Europa" by Julio Martínez Mesanza. According to the composer, this text can help first world people be in the shoes of third world people. The work flows like several waves that are reviewing and transforming the material. This work was commissioned by the Universidad de Navarra. The instrumental ensemble used to record this composition was conducted by Vincente Martínez.

Recording of Jose Luis Carles' Une saison dans la betonière. The work presented here is a piece of electroacoustic music that starts from a soundscape that is going to be transformed and modulated with different digital procedures. The idea of soundscape allows us to relate the sounds with their context: temporal, spatial, social, etc. with the different transformations, the composer changes the perspective of listening and tries to introduce different metaphorical and symbolic elements. This piece was made in April 2002 in the LIEM / CDMC Laboratory in Madrid.

Recording of Guillermo Galindo's Haiku. For electronic, pre-recorded sound, voice, and flute. Based on a poem by Michael McClure, Haiku II represents nature and humans transcendental connection. Recorded and processed nature sounds coexistent and the flute material was derived from digital transformations. The original recording includes sounds of crickets, grasshoppers and cicadas and was digitally transformed in order to emphasize harmonic or textural content.

This work premiered in Madrid within the framework of the "XI International Festival of Electroacoustic Music - Punto de Encuentro". This work is dedicated to the cliffs off of the north coast of Galicia and mixes the sounds of everyday life with clarinet improvisations. The text spoken in this work was done by Guillermo Abraldes, whom the composer thanks for his selfless collaboration.

Recording of Hugo Druetta's Recuerdo de ruido blanco. The composer describes his feelings about his country, Argentina, and the overwhelming pressure from international organizations and the government. This work is inspired by the idea of eternally seeking out the possible in hopeless situations.

Recording of José Halac's The Breaking Of The Scream. This work was inspired by a folk song from North West Argentina called "Baguala del Tigre" and a poem written by Argentine poet Pablo Anadon called "Seasons of the Tree". The main ideas from both of these works converge into this composition.

Recording of Robert Grassi's L'ouest du palmarès. The composer describes this work as a live improvisation from a sample percussionists and speaker. The instrumentation was created by Yamaha drums and a Yamaha sampler.

Recording of Gonzalo Biffarella's Tango. This work was commissioned by the WDR 3 of Cologne, Germany. This radiophonic piece was inspired by the origin of Tango and uses fragments from old songs as well as a lecture by Jorge Luis Borges about the topic. The text has been translated into German and French for segments of the work.

The sound materials were recorded in Spain, France, and Mexico City. The composer dedicates this work to Stefano Scarani and it was premiered by Mr. Harrie Starreveld.

Recording of Fernando D. Polonuer's Breve reseña sobre los sueños, el vacío y la enfermedad. This composition is described as a program category work. It represents three steps in a painful and unconscious way to self-destruction. The dreams: the perception of loneliness and memories. The emptiness: the wake up, the light, the reflection, the comprehension. The illness: self-destruction, the fight for survival, pain and defeat. This work includes voices which have been recorded in different years. There is a voice singing fragments of a Tango called "Sus ojos se cerraron" and spoken words with thoughts about linguistic texts. Included texts and quoted material are listed by the composer, in English, as follows: "Today, my heart is lonely..." / "This silence is so cruel, is hurting me so..." / (Spoken) " Promises: can't they be true or false? Recording of Rubén Hinojosa Chapel and Bérengère de Tarlé's Camello. This work tells an imaginary story by taking elements from real life including the sounds of public transportation in Havana. It is a soundscape of a part of the daily life in Havana. The composer points to the importance of the words in the piece from people speaking and public announcements as it holds symbolism for the Cuban people. This work premiered at the "XIII Festival de La Habana de Música Contemporánea".
