[Denton City/County Library Bookmobile]

The picture was taken across from Congress Junior High School facing Alice Street. In 1938 the schools purchased a bookmobile to provide better library services to schools in the County. The Works Progress Administration funded the staff and maintenance of the bookmobile program.

Smith-Carroll Hall built by the Woman's Home Mission Socity of the North Texas Conference of the Methodist Episcopal Church

Smith-Carroll Hall of Texas Woman's University is visible behind a rock ledge, flowers, and trees. Ivy covers one side of the building. The building was opened in April of 1908 and was also known as Methodist Dormitory. The building was torn down in 1950 and another dormitory was erected with the same name.

Lee Preston
