The building is a design of architect William A. Wells, who practices in Oklahoma City from 1904-1914. Wells also designed the old Carnegie Library, original Oklahoma County courthouse and the Terminal Building, all destroyed. Besides the Pioneer, the only Wells building remaining in downtown Oklahoma City is the Colcord."
