Photograph used for a story in the Daily Oklahoman newspaper. Caption: "A "surrey" (with the fringe on top) which once carried Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein made what was probably its last drive Wednesday. The 66-year-old vehicle, a little dusty from long storage but still gleaming with original paint and body polish, was turned over to the state historical society here by its owner, Paul A. Andres, 1610 Randel. Its last drive across Oklahoma City was made with an assist from a moving Van and crew. Bill Dale, curator at the society building, said the surrey will be placed in the main display room of the museum until expansion plans for the society are completed. It then will be housed along side a stage coach and other early day transportation vehicles......A model 1895 Phaeton surrey, it was originally purchased by G. A. Andres, grandfather of its most recent owner, who purchased it directly frim the factory in St. Louis. It was used continuously on Oklahoma City streets until 1913. Dale and Elmer Fraker inspected the vehicle Wednesday, reflecting that it was a delicate, yet sturdy vehicle "that's a real delight to have in the society." It's value is from $2,000 …
