Photograph used for a story in the Oklahoma City Times newspaper. Caption: "Oklahomans seldom take note of the oilfields. Only drilling operations atract much attention. But day in, day out, hundreds of oilmen are at work in the fields. They struggle to keep the wells in shape. Routine work replacing parts or cleaning welss has a spectacular look. Four of six photographs here were made during the same operation. In a simple, one-hour procedure, the four-man crew was replacing a pump. While one man clambered up a tall portable rig, another controlled operations from a truck. Two others worked with wrenchs on the ground. The Times photographer circled the rig snapping pictures of the workers. Other photos show typical oilfield scenes, considered ordinary - except to the camera's eye. (photo tag: Daring oildfield worker clambers up cable to connect pulley.)"
