Photograph used for a story in the Daily Oklahoman newspaper. Caption: "By spring the new downtown air park being constructed almost in the heart of Oklahoma City should be ready for operation, Hal McKnight, acting manager said Friday. Asphalt runways are now being laid and should be completed by the first of the year. He said 50 percent of the base is already down. The two runways, one 2,600 feet long, will be covered with asphalt and stone. Designed for use of executive type ships, it is believed the first in the entire country to actually qualify for the name. Many cities have talked of building them but few have attempted it. R. T. Amis, one of the stockholders in the company, said the port will be of great benefit to firms that operate planes in their business. It takes less than five minutes to get to it from Broadway and Main."
