Photograph used for a story in the Daily Oklahoman newspaper. Caption: "The river is beyond the end of this ditch, which is the axis of the dam, and is at the foot of the cliff in the background. From right to left, as shown here, the earthen dam will be almost a quarter mile wide. About six feet of earth has been placed and rolled as shown at right of the photo. Into drilled holes in the ditch workmen are forcing a thin mixture of water and cement to make a sort of underground seepage prevention wall as the grout seals up sub-surface rock strata. Shown on the map at right are townships, each six miles square."

Photograph used for a story in the Daily Oklahoman newspaper. Caption: "Above is the mirror-like Illinois river several miles above the damsite. At left is the main lake area with location and approximate size of the dam shown. The large clear area was part of a farm, now has become a borrow pit for earth also is obtained south of it. Because the river itself nominally is clear it is expected the future lake will be also. The point from which this photo was taken is to be an observation location at terminus of the new highway to be built from Gore."

Photograph used for a story in the Daily Oklahoman newspaper. Caption: "At first glance this picture makes one wonder how the photographer got his shot without falling on his head. A second and closer look shows a lot of revealing thingswhy traffic moves slowly in downtown Oklahoma City. One each side of Robinson at the light drivers are out in the pedestrain cross walks, distrubing the movement. the delayed pedestrian movement in turn is holding up a right turn in the south-bound lane and traffic stacks up to the alley. Eastbound traffic, sure to be held up by straggling pedestrians tryingh to get around the protruding front car, will keep some of the 14 cars headed east tied up till the next light. One car going north has already cleared the intersection while another, stalled at the crossing stacks traffic half a block south. Forty-two cars, trucks and buses are visible in this intersection shot of Robinson and NW 1 taken at noon."
