[Allen Family and friends photograph album]

Photograph album of Allen family and friends ranging from the 1890s through the 1920s. Images include snapshots of people participating in outdoor activities and recreation, outdoor scenes, houses and industrial buildings, travel, group portraits, and some studio portraits. None of the images are labeled with names, locations, or dates, although a few of the beach and swimming images are recognizable as Galveston, Texas.

Cabinet card photograph of Dr. Frances Daisy Emery Allen wearing a blouse with a large ruffled collar and a large bow at the center of the collar. Her hair is styled in an up-do and she has small dangling earrings. At the bottom of the card, printed in gold ink is "Daniel, Ft. Worth, Texas," and in very light handwriting the words "Dr. Daisy." Handwritten on the back of the card in blue ink is ""Sweet 16" Daisy."

Cabinet card photograph of Dr. James Walter Allen at the age of nineteen. He wears a dark pea coat and slightly baggy pants. He leans one arm on a studio prop that looks like the end pillar of a low decorative stone wall. The backdrop is painted sky, pathway, and trees. At the bottom of the card is printed text that reads, "Ardmore. Downing, Ind. Ter." An inscription in pencil on the back of the card reads, "Father - when I was nineteen-"

Cabinet card photograph of a young woman wearing a long sleeve floral patterned dress with lace around the collar and belt. She wears a small corsage on her chest. Half of her hair is pulled back, and she has short curly bangs. She stands with her hands behind her back, and looks slightly to the side of the camera. The photo has stains throughout. At the bottom of the card is the studio imprint, which reads, " Peery, Photo. Kaufman, Texas." An inscription on the back reads, "Cousin Eva Stirman / February 2[illegible], [illegible]."

Photograph of the Fort Worth University Medical Department taken outside of a brick building. The group is arranged in six rows with the front row seated on a step. The group is mostly men all wearing dark suites, with some wearing or holding hats. Handwriting in ink on the photograph indicates four individuals including Dr. Allen, Barber, Wilson, and Y---. The photograph is mounted on a tan board which has the Swartz photographer imprint, handwriting that reads: "2nd row - 5th from right / Dr. James Walter Allen / father of Frances & Sheila Allen." A strip of paper affixed to the board with printed text reads: "Medical Department, Fort Worth University, Jan 15, / 1898. James Walter Allen appears in second row, fifth / from right. He graduated that May." The tan board is mounted to a white board.

Photograph of an autopsy taking place in a medical class at the Fort Worth University. A body lays on a wooden table with its chest and throat cut open. Two men and two women hold medical tools near the body. Additional men stand near the feet with tools and a notepad, while another man stands near the head with notepad. The people either wear dark medical gowns or white aprons to cover their clothes. The photograph is mounted on a tan board with printed text "Swartz, 705 Main St. / Fort Worth, Tex." at the bottom. Handwritten text along the top of the board names the individuals : Kent V Kibbie, Lewis Hershfield, Crabbil, Mrs. Lincecum, Daisy Emery, A. L. Lincecum, Samuel Adams Owens.
