Award certificate issued to T. V. Munson in recognition of his display illustrating all of the parts of the grape vine, with other documentation about viticulture. There is detailed text in the center of the certificate describing the exhibit, surrounded by extensive illustrations. Among the images, there is a canoe at the bottom with a series of seals on the side with persons in the boat representing various cultures; at left, a woman is holding a trumpet and lifting a laurel wreath; and at the top, another woman is reclining against a buffalo (left) and reaching out toward an image of a large building while watching Native American boys play (right).

[Columbian Exposition Medal]

Souvenir medal from the world's fair in Chicago. One side has an image of Christopher columbus wearing armor, with his arms outstretched as he makes landfall, with the text "Christopher Columbus Oct-XII MCCCCXCII" at right. On the reverse, there are a number of images around the central text: "World's Columbian Exposition in Commemoration of the Four-Hundredth Anniversary of the Landing of Columbus. MDCCCXCII - MDCCCXCIII to T.V. Munson." Images include (at top) a globe with an angel on either side, one with a trumpet and the other marking the globe with a brush; beribboned lit torches on either side of the central text box; and (at bottom) Columbus' ship with unfurled sails.

On the front, there is a bald eagle with wings outspread, holding up a box with the text: "Commemorative Medal, Louisiana Purchase Exposition." Below the text box are two fishes and a shell. On the reverse, there are two female figures, at left, a woman wearing a helmet and holding a U.S. flag out behind her, next to a partially-naked woman removing cloth decorated with bees. Text around the outside of the image says: "Universal Exposition Saint Louis United States of America, MCMIV."
