Interview with Dr. Anne Speckhard, Adjunct Associate Professor of Psychiatry in the School of Medicine at Georgetown University, and director of the International Center for the Study of Violent Extremism where she is currently studying counter-terrorism initiatives. This interview focuses on Dr. Speckhards research and work related to post-abortion stress responses. She discusses post-abortion trauma syndrome, perinatal psychology, informed consent, her position as a public figure on abortion issues, and her eventual decision to study other areas of psychology related to post-traumatic stress.

Interview with Barry M. Lewis, an attorney from Chicago, Illinois. Lewis discusses his background in law, education, the COVID-19 Pandemic, his involvement with postpartum cases, postpartum psychoses, the DSM, and literature and treatment related to postpartum mental illnesses.

Interview with Benjamin Bình-Thiên Phạm Lương, a chef from Dallas, Texas who studied at the Culinary Institute of America. Benjamin discusses the background of his Vietnamese parents, the Vietnam War, politics, his father's education in the United States, and his own personal journey to becoming a chef.

Interview with Birdie Meyer, a registered nurse with a master's in counseling from Speedway, Indiana. Meyer discusses education, experience working as a nurse, learning about maternal mental health issues through Postpartum Support International and Depression After Delivery, working closely with PSI, Wade Bowen fundraising for the organization, training and programs, impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic, inclusivity, and resources in the field of maternal mental health.

Interview with Carol Blocker, an activist from Chicago, Illinois. Blocker discusses postpartum activism, her experience with her daughter Melanie, the difference between postpartum psychosis and postpartum depression, the Melanie Blocker Stokes Act, and the lack of detailed information available about postpartum mental illnesses.

Interview with Carol Dix, an author from London, England. Dix describes her pregnancy and giving birth experiences, Postpartum Depression, the writing she produced, her surgeries, crime, life in London, and her children.

Interview with David Carlson, a rancher and retired psychologist from Denton, Texas. The focus of the interview is the "Texas blackout," a weeklong power outage from February 14th to February 21st, 2021. Carlson discusses working at nursing homes during the COVID-19 Pandemic, his ranch, how they took care of the animals and themselves during the freeze, and the animal births that occurred during this time.

Interview with David Vo, a resident of Calera, Oklahoma. Vo discusses his upbringing in Vietnam, his father's work as an officer in the South Vietnamese military, the Vietnam War, escaping on a boat and coming to the United States, getting his degree in automotive industrial technology at Cal State University, starting a family, and his perspective regarding his homeland.

Interview with Dick J. Reavis, political activist, journalist and author. Reavis is a former staff writer for Texas Monthly, professor in English department at North Carolina State University, contributing publications for Soldier of Fortune and The Wall Street Journal, and author of The Ashes of Waco: an Investigation. He discusses childhood memories and early experiences of his father's newspaper publishing career in Oklahoma, Texas, and South Carolina; Experiences in Texas public schools during segregation era; Father's political views and development of his own political views; Experiences as college student at Texas Tech, Panhandle A&M, and University of Texas; Involvement in the civil rights and antiwar movements with Southern Christian Leadership Conference, Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee, and Students for a Democratic Society, and in various other left causes and organizations; Career in journalism; Personal life, political views and travels.

Interview with Divya Kumar, an independent clinical social worker and psychotherapist from Boston, Massachusetts. Kumar discusses getting a certification in perinatal mental health from PSI, becoming a co-founder of the Perinatal Mental Health Alliance for People of Color, Postpartum Progress, PSI trainings, issues, becoming an advisor, defining identity as a mother and as a person, and advocacy for diversity in leadership.

Interview with Donald E. Francisco, a University of North Texas graduate and a University of North Carolina emeritus professor of Environmental Sciences and Engineering. Francisco discusses his background, education, his experience as a lab assistant at UNT, segregation and integration in Denton history, his involvement in the civil rights movement, working at a foundry, religion, teaching at and family.

Interview with Elisabeth Brolin discussing her early life in Switzerland, immigration to the DFW area, journey to becoming a United States citizen, her discovery of her faith and of God, her life as an immigrant in the United States, her social connections, and the concept of the American Dream.

Interview with Horace N. Robinson, a resident of Durant, Oklahoma. Robinson discusses his upbringing, life in a small town, the appearance of polio, World War II, PTSD he had seen in veterans, Christianity, the development of pacifism, the Vietnam War, and reminders left behind.

Interview with Ignaz Gorischek, a fashion consultant from the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Gorischek discusses his forty years of work in the department store industry, specifically in luxury retail, opening stores and putting on exhibits with Neiman Marcus, leaving Neiman's to work at a design firm in Dallas, and working with students at the University of North Texas.

Interview with Jabina Coleman, a reproductive psychotherapist and certified lactation consultant from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Coleman discusses her involvement in supporting maternal health, from running Life House Lactation & Perinatal Services to founding groups like Breastfeeding Awareness and Empowerment, the Perinatal Mental Health and Alliance for People of Color, and the Maternal Wellness Village in Philadelphia. Coleman discusses her own pregnancy, postpartum depression, education, and motivation to become an advocate in her field.

Interview with Jeanne Watson Driscoll, a clinical nurse scientist from Boston, Massachusetts. Driscoll discusses her experience with obsessive thought disorder during her pregnancies, Carol Dix's book about postpartum depression, helping women with breastfeeding, becoming active in postpartum support organizations, PSI, the NURSE plan, DAD, and speaking on maternal mental health.

Interview with Jerry F. Price, a celebrated coach from Grandview, Missouri. Price discusses growing up in Denton, his sports background, teaching at Lincoln High School in Kansas City, becoming a football, basketball, track, and golf head coach, integration of schools, his football accomplishments, family, and his health. Documents are included in the Appendix to this interview.

Video recording of interview with John Murphy, UNT professor of jazz studies. Murphy discusses his youth in Baltimore, Maryland, during the 1960s and 1970s including his music education at Baltimore County Public Schools, and the musical influence of the Left Bank Jazz Society; His experience as a UNT student in the jazz studies and music theory programs (1981-1986); playing saxophone in the One O’clock Lab Band and at venues around Denton; His research as an ethnomusicologist studying Cuban and Brazilian music and work as a professor at Western Illinois University (1992-2001) then the University of North Texas (2001-2020) where he served in faculty and administrative roles to further develop the jazz studies program and help preserve the program’s history.

Interview with Joy Burkhard, a mother and founder/executive director of the nonprofit organization 2020 Mom, soon to be renamed the Policy Center for Maternal Mental Health, from Valencia, California. Burkhard discusses work in the health delivery system, her own experience with motherhood, Postpartum Support International, founding her organization, maternal mental health disorders, Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs, and the importance of access to child care and support.

Interview with Dr. Katherine L. Wisner, professor of psychiatry and director of the Asher Center for Study and Treatment of Depressive Disorders at Northwestern University, about her research and work related to perinatal mental health.

Interview with Larry Leathers, former Visual Manager at Neiman Marcus from Dallas, Texas. Leathers describes his background in theater and dance, fascination with the "frozen theater" of display mannequins, entry into the fashion industry, promotion from display creator to manager of a department to manager of a whole store, stories about working with clients, family, change over time, and the importance of remembering the heart of the fashion industry.

Interview with Laurence Kruckman, an anthropologist who specializes in mental health and epidemiology from South Venice, Florida. Kruckman discusses education, learning about postpartum illness and starting self-help groups with friends, spreading awareness, the DSM, Dar a Luz, becoming involved in leadership at PSI, and evolution of the support system in the U.S. for new mothers over time.
