Postcard of historic dates and people such as Captain John Smith or The Old Church Tower. Jamestown is described as "Here the First Permanent English Settlement in America was Founded, May 13, 1607 Here the First Legislative Assembly in America Convened, July 30, 1619 Here was the First Capital of the Colony of Virginia 1697-1698." The back of the postcard adds, "Administered jointly by the Association for the Preservation of Virginia Antiquities (Jamestown National Historic Site) and the National Park Service, U. S. Department of the Interior." The message on the back is illegible. The postcard is addressed to "Mrs. Carroll Ward 1906 McFaddin Ave. Beaumont, Texas."
