Recorded copies of applications and affidavits filed by individuals to purchase free school and asylum lands as actual settlers, under provisions of Title LXXXVII, Chapter 12A, Revised Civil Statutes of 1895 and amendments by Acts of May 19, 1897. Shows name of county, date of application, and name of county in which land located. Includes: a. Description of land on which application made; b. Statement that applicant is over 21 years of age; c. Record of free school and asylum lands purchased from state by applicant prior to April 19, 1901; d. Sworn statement that applicant plans to purchase property as a home, that applicant is a bona fide settler thereon, and that the purchase is not being made in collusion with others; e. Obligation to pay for land purchase. Also includes recording certificate, showing file number, date filed, date recorded, amount remitted to state treasurer as first payment, and signature of county clerk.
