The concrete porch they are sitting on is attached to a wood-slatted building with a front door on the left-hand side of the image and two windows directly behind the children. The grassy yard around the house is visible in the foreground and in the background on the right-hand side of the image. There is also a swing set beside the house as well as some other structures which are visible in the background. There is a handwritten note on the back of the photograph that reads, "Faft. - manse that burned".
