A form letter addressed to Mr. Vice-Chairman from T. N. Carswell, Chairman, 24th District Chairman, dated February 12, 1941. Carswell requests of the Vice-Chairman to help the Pastors of the different churches in their county to organize and put over the Car Cavalcade of Youth to the Capital. "We, in the 24th District, are vitally concerned since we must feel the humiliation of having liquor sold in our counties when we have voted it out by substantial majorities." An attachment includes a list of names of Vice-Chairmen to whom letters were sent regarding the Car Cavalcade of Youth to the Capital.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, c/o Parramore Post No. 57, Abilene, Texas, from Allen Wight, Touchstone, Wight, Gormley & Touchstone, Dallas, Texas, dated February 7, 1941. Wight advises Carswell that there is no newspaper mat available. " I am very sorry, but I ain't pretty." The reverse side includes miscellaneous handwritten notes.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas, from C. C. Armstrong, Pastor, First Methodist Church, Anson, Texas, dated February 24, 1941. Armstrong describes the lack of organization of the drys in Jones County and the refusal of Judge Miller to act as County Chairman.

A letter written to T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas, from F. F. Andrews, Post Commander, Havens-Cannon Post 24, West Grade School, Principal, Anadarko, Oklahoma, dated February 15, 1941. Andrews advises of his interest in the Abilene Ministerial Alliance due to two companies out of Anadarko being in the Abilene area. He advises of the enclosed rosters for the two companies explaining that the town and the men's officers are interested in the welfare of the men. Andrews advises of several Indians belonging to the company and suggests, for unusual entertainment, that they be asked to perform some dances in their costumes. He gives assurance they are not looking for special attention for these men acknowledging their understanding that there are 19,000 men that need the attention of the Abilene community. The attached rosters are of Company "F" 120th Quartermaster Regiment and of Battery "B" 158th F.A.; a penciled "a" is by the names of men who are from Anadarko . The reverse side of the roster includes handwritten names and notations. An attached roster provides a listing of names of officers from Anadarko and a postscript by Andrews stating, "These men are worthy of any trust that you may ask …

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas from H. M. Weldon, First Baptist Church, Albany, Texas, dated February 18, 1941. Weldon advises of a meeting to be held in the Matthews Memorial Presbyterian Church and presses Carswell to be there.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Commander, American Legion, Abilene, Texas, from Harley Sadler, Brownwood, Texas, dated February 28, 1941. Sadler confirms his receipt of the wire from Carswell and brags that their show is one of the largest and finest companies they have ever brought to Abilene.

Schneck provides optional addresses to where Carswell can send his mail; the Fransciscan Hotel, Albuquerque, New Mexico and the Macie Hotel, Sweetwater, Texas.

A letter written to Dr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas, from Jeff Davis, Executive Secretary, United Texas Drys, dated February 3, 1941. Davis expresses his appreciation for the letter advising him of the support of Carswell's Senator for Dr. Bradfield's confirmation. Davis touches on an exciting event and promises that he will send a self-explanatory letter regarding "a calvacade of youth to Austin" requesting that Carswell get Abilene's support.

A letter written to Dr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas, from Jeff Davis, Executive Secretary, United Texas Drys, dated February 19, 1941. Davis describes the Youth parade as a tremendous success but warns of the real fight now to get House Bill 373 out of the committee and before the House.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas, from L. H. Beckham, General Insurance, Abilene, Texas, dated February 3, 1941. Beckham describes the enthusiasim of the Nolan County group regarding the United Drys Program.

A letter written to Major T. N. Carswell, 10th Battalion, T.D.G., Abilene, Texas, from Neill H. Banister, Lieut. Col., Infantry, Asst. to the Adjutant General, Adjutant General's Department, Austin, dated February 14, 1941. Banister advises Carswell of the appreciation of the entire Department for his letter commending Mr. L. E. Newton of Rotan, Texas and confirms that the Rotan unit will stand well on the list of available units.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas, from Lynn W. Landrum, The Dallas Morning News, dated February 17, 1941. Landrum confirms that his own opinion is the same as Carswell's opinion of Allen Wight and conveys Wight's positive opinion of Carswell.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Post Commander, Parramore Post No. 57, Abilene, Texas, from Richard E. Froiseth, Major, QMC, Constructing Quartermaster, War Department, Camp Barkeley, Abilene, Texas, dated February 11, 1941. Froiseth declines the invitation to take a part on the DEFEND AMERICA program citing a previous engagement.

A letter written to Brigadier General Richard Donovan, Commander 8th Corp Area, Fort Sam Houston, Texas, from T. N. Carswell, Major, 10th Battalion, Texas Defense Guard, dated February 7, 1941. Carswell requests to receive copies of : "Infantry Drill Regulations F.M. 22-5". Carswell informs Donovan that Congressman Russell had advised Carswell that the War Department had refered Russell and Carswell to him.

A letter written to Col. Neill H. Banister, Adjutant General's Department, Austin, Texas, from T. N. Carswell, Major, 10th Battalion, T.D.G., dated February 13, 1941. Carswell commends, and recommends, for any future opening, Captain Newton and his Home Defense Unit in Rotan, Texas.

A letter written to Major L. E. Newton, Rotan, Texas, from T. N. Carswell, Major, 10th Battalion, T.D.G, dated February 13, 1941. Carswell commends Newton on the work his Home Defense Unit is doing, advises that he is writing Col. Banister with reference to his unit and presumes that Newton sent a copy of the report to the Adjutant General.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas, from Philip C. McGahey, Pastor, First Baptist Church, Breckenridge, Texas, dated February 24, 1941. McGahey reports on his actions to get an interest in the Drys including giving the letter to Mr. Waller but that Waller gave it back without comment. He voices his lack of hope to see much done in his county.

A letter addressed to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas, from R. N. Grisham, Grisham & Grisham, Attorneys At Law, Eastland, Texas, dated February 24, 1941. Grisham acknowledges his receipt of the letter from Carswell requesting the names of other county officers. Grisham informs Carswell that Rev. Jones W. Weathers will cooperate with him in this matter and that the whiskey interests have withdrawn from "this" county except for the wet drug stores.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Commander Parramore Post No. 57, Abilene, Texas, from Sam Russell, House of Representatives, Washington, D. C., dated February 3, 1941. Russell acknowledges his receipt of the letter from Carswell dated February 1 then explains how he was trying to get the drill books but when unable to do so he wrote to Carswell to give him the information.

A letter written to Judge Allen Wight, Dallas, Texas, from T. N. Carswell, Post Commander, dated February 6, 1941. Carswell make a request to Wight to supply his newspaper mat.

A letter written to General William S. Key, Major General 45th Division, Fort Sill, Oklahoma, from T. N. Carswell, Post Commander, dated February 6, 1941. Carswell confirms the plans for the "Defend America" meeting featuring Judge Allen Wight and W. R. White of Hardin-Simmons University as speakers. He requests that Key speak, but if it is not convenient for him to attend, that he ask one of his officers to accept a place on the program instead.
