The figure are however sadly worn away and almost fails to depict its one time grandure. Chas. sold for of his pictures upon the spot and has the money yet has not delivered the pictures. It seems incredible to me for I have many friends who obtained pictures from myself and not a -- I have recieved. Moral - never deliver a kodak picture until you have the rennumeration in your pocket. The man says that he will give me an opportunity in the singal works. This pays about 2 per diem for which I am under obligation to make a per diem trip of about 40 miles on a hand car. What do you think of it; whatever you think dont publish it abroad as in case of the unexpected I might be deeply humiliated. Please be mum. You can tell Papa if you like. Also ask him what are his desire on the subject and impart them to me at an early convience. Your son, Byrd."
