A reception was hosted by their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren at the Howard Johnson Motor Lodge in Austin, TX. They have 17 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

Kealing (1860 - 1918) was a principal, teacher, writer, editor, and distinguished Methodist Episcopal layman. He was among the first generation of blacks to attend school during the Reconstruction. Kealing Junior High School in Austin was named for him.
