She recalls her childhood and education in Dallas and New York City; love of piano and musical education; decision to become one of the first African American students at North Texas; experiences as a college student, including racist incidents on campus, and as a boarder in Southeast Denton; decision to drop out in 1958; marriage to Raymond Logan, move to California, and return to Denton; decision to return to UNT as a student in 2005 and experiences on campus in the 21st century; 2011 graduation.

Interview with Pam Rose, resident of Eastland, Texas, regarding her memories of as member of the African American community in Eastland County. Rose discusses attending an all-black elementary school, desegregation of schools, discrimination she experienced, race relations in the community throughout history, public perceptions of race, education at Texas Women's University, and her career as a nurse.

Interview with Renee Shelton, a resident of Eastland County, regarding her experiences as a member of the African American community there. Shelton discusses starting school during the period of integration, discrimination she experienced, interracial dating, local community organizations, work at E. L. Graham Hospital and Russell-Newman, and prejudice experienced by her children in smaller Texas towns.

Interview with Betty Jo Weeks, resident of Cisco, Texas, regarding her memories of as member of the African American community in Eastland County. Weeks discusses attending all-black schools, her family and marriages, the barbeque business she started with her second husband Oscar Weeks, her career as a beautician, nurse's aid, and physical therapist's assistant, and experiences with discrimination.

Interview with Ledell Randall, resident of Eastland, Texas, regarding her memories of as member of the African American community in Eastland County. Randall discusses growing up on a farm in Hawkins, Texas, family, the Texas State Fair, factory work in Dallas, segregation, coming to Eastland, her children, integration, opening up a barbeque with her husband (King's Barbeque), and local organizations.
