Feasibility of Using Remote-Sensing Techniques for Shoreline Delineation and Coastal Habitat Classification for Environmental Sensitivity Index (ESI) Mapping

Environmental Sensitivity Index (ESI) provides shoreline classification and a sensitivity ranking that is important for oil spill planning. This system has not been used in Louisiana due to the rapid changes of the shoreline, which is a potential threat due to high risk of oil spill in that region. This research paper's goal is to develop remote sensing classification procedures to create an ESI map for Louisiana and other areas that present similar issues.
