Evening ensemble of black satin, silk and velvet. A) Halter top of black velvet. Center front closure of 9 hook & eyes on interior and 4 snaps and 1 hook & eye on exterior. Three stitched tucks on each side of opening. Back peplum curves sharply away from center front. Lined in black silk with black silk petersham. Designer's label at center back: "Yves Saint Laurent / rive gauche / Made in France / Paris" Evidence of tags cut from base of designer label. B) Full length ball gown skirt gathers in 1" satin waistband. Skirt creates harlequin effect with alternating diamonds of velvet, satin and moire silk. Hem trimmed with silk box pleated and bound in the center with narrow black velvet band; hem has dotted net hanging 2" below. Left side zipper closure with two hook & bars on waistband. Lined in burgundy silk with 3" stiffened hem. Designer's label at center back: "Saint Laurent / rive gauche / Made in France / Paris"
