Abstract: This report is a synthesis of published and unpublished data on the rocks of the Anadarko basin.

From abstract: During fiscal years 1978 through 1981, the U.S. Geological Survey contracted for the acquisition and analysis of hydrologic data from 104 surface water stations, 26 ground water stations, and 15 precipitation gages as well as for several hundred miscellaneous surface water measurements of flow and water quality. The work was performed in Montana, North Dakota, Wyoming, Utah, New Mexico, and Oklahoma, terminating at the end of the fiscal year 1981. This report is an assessment of this contracting effort from the standpoint of cost and of quality control measures employed to ensure an acceptable product.

From abstract: This report contains the complete Bouger and isostatic residual gravity maps of the Anadarko basin, Wichita Mountains, and surrounding areas on parts of Oklahoma, Kansas, Texas and Colorado that were compiled using gravity data from 11,023 stations.

From abstract: The High Plains Regional Aquifer System Analysis study has developed a regional water-resources (and related) data storage and retrieval system to organize and preserve areal interpretive data. The system is general and can easily be adapted for other studies. This report documents the High Plains data base as well as the general system that is independent of the High Plains area.

The following report covers investigations on sedimentary rocks of Middle Pennsylvanian age in northeastern Oklahoma, southeastern Kansas, and western Missouri. Distribution of uranium and other trace elements in these rocks was studied during 1955 and 1956.

From introduction: This report describes the results of 1980 sampling of ground-water pumpage for irrigation on the High Plains, one phase of the High Plains Regional Aquifer-System Analysis project. These data were collected to estimate the volume of irrigation water pumped during 1980 and to determine current trends in irrigation pumpage on the High Plains.

From abstract: The mapped area of the Henryetta mining district includes about 168 square miles in Okmulgee County in the east-central part of Oklahoma. The rocks in this district consist of sandstone, silty shale, and shale, and are divided into the Senora formation and the overlying Calvin sandstone of Pennsylvanian age.

From abstract: The McAlester district is an area of about 477 square miles in Pittsburg, Atoka, and Latimer Counties, Okla. It lies entirely within the Arkansas Valley geomorphic province except for the extreme northwest corner, which is crossed by the easternmost cuesta of the Osage Plains province.

From abstract: The rocks exposed in the Lehigh district, in the Arkansas-Oklahoma coal basin, aggregate at least 5,000 feet in thickness. All are of Pennsylvanian age, except scattered thin Pleistocene (?) and Recent deposits. Rocks of Pottsville age crop out extensively in the southwestern part of the district and include the Springer formation, Wapanucka limestone, and Atoka formation. The Pottsville rocks are overlain in the northeastern part by formations of Allegheny age, including the Hartshorne sandstone. McAlester shale, Savanna sandstone, Boggy shale, and Thurman sandstone.

From abstract: The Quinton-Scipio district includes about 450 square miles, mostly in Pittsburg County but partly in Haskell and Latimer Counties, Okla. The stratified rocks exposed at the surface in the district are the McAlester, Savanna, Boggy, Thurman, Stuart, and Senora formations, of Pennsylvanian age, and consist of alternating beds of shale and sandstone with some coal beds and a few beds of limestone less than 1 foot thick. The total thickness of these formations exposed in the district is between 3,000 and 3,300 feet. There are probably unconformities at the base of the Savanna sandstone and at the base of the Thurman sandstone. Overlying the Pennsylvanian formations in parts of the district are unconsolidated sand, gravel, and clay, which in part belong to the Gerty sand, a deposit in an abandoned Quaternary (?) river channel. Other unconsolidated deposits include sand on stream terraces and Recent alluvium.

From abstract: The Howe-Wilburton district is a narrow area of about 540 square miles that extends westward from the Arkansas State line for about 60 miles across Latimer and Le Flore Counties, Okla. It lies in the southern part of the Arkansas Valley physiographic province and is a part of the large Arkansas-Oklahoma coal field.

From Purpose and Scope of Report: This report presents a detailed description of the ore deposits of the Picher field and all phases of geology having a bearing on their localization, origin, and the search for them. It is based mainly on work done by the U.S. Geological Survey, but it also incorporates pertinent data from published literature, especially from the outstanding work of George M. Fowler and associates, and some unpublished data obtained from the geologic staffs of the mining companies.
