Recording of Sten Hanson's Don't hesitate, do it right now. This work consists of 4 separate pieces: 'Che', 'The Glorious Desertion', 'Don't hesitate, do it right now', and 'Revolution'. This collection of pieces were inspired by the ADC (American Deserters Committee), a group of American soldiers that found sanctuary in Sweden after deserting the American army during the Vietnam war. The spoken text in this piece is sampled from a speech given by Che Guevara, a public figure who took part in Castro's revolution.

Recording of Sylvi MacCormac's Echoes of Home: All the way from Ireland. The composer describes this work as a portrait of a family that includes the voices of several members of her family. Each family member speaks a different text that are then overlapped with each other as well as other sounds.

Recording of Ton Bruynèl's From the Tripod. "Give me the strength and courage to contemplate this world without disgust." Baudelaire We hear this quote at the end of Ton Bruynèl's work as a mechanical bird passes and bells ring. This program music musically traces a kind of history of the West commented upon by a group of women, from Grace to American society. "From the Tripod" is a piece for loudspeakers, women, and listeners.

Recording of Jesús Torres' Himno a las lesbianas. This is an electroacoustic work that includes sound objects of the same type (news, voices, groans, etc.). These sounds create a collage that shows a distorted view of humor in a cumulative and destructive series. This series is linked to Schwitters' Dadaism, the notion of surrealist chance and the desire to dissolve the border between art and life. Overall, it represents the aesthetic of negation.

Miscellaneous sound-sources were collected form metal work-shops, toy-shops, builders' yard etc. some of the material for the original source-tapes was group-improvisation on these collected objects, and/or instruments and voices, some very free, others less so, and yet other sections strictly notated. other sound--sources were recorded individually and mixed or edited later in the studio. all these sounds were sorted, selected, pre-edited, and some treated, from this point the process of tape-composition proper could begin, the work involved was editing, mixing, re-editing, re-mixing, and treatments (speed-change, filtering, etc).

Recording of José Iges Lebrancon's Seven minutes desert. This work explores the need to "measure everything" which is our way of exploring and experiencing the world around us. Although this piece has a fixed duration, the listener should try and listen presently without the fixed notion of waiting for an end. The elaboration of the random sequences help fit the sound characteristics of the voice.

Recording of Georges Todd's wordscapes.Three words have been sampled, analyzed and resynthesized using Synclavier's SFM and resynthesizing program. This unique method of resynthesis divides the analyzed sound into portions, time fragments determined by the composer, each of which has a harmonic spectrum. For the band, the material is made only of transformed and processed harp and classical guitar sounds. Within the transformations are frequency shifting, spatial panorization, harmonization, random amplitude modulation and time extension.

Recording of Alcides Lanza's Penetrations VII. Penetrations VII (1972-III), the chamber version of Penetrations VI, moves from the individual's memories to a concern for mankind's global memories. This piece also deals with communication...or the lack of it. The performer is at the same time a child and a woman experiencing all the memories of humanity. The accumulated hatred and evil of our human history becomes too much to remember, causing a collapse. However, the piece ends in a rebirth of hope such as children perennially inspire in us all - and a reminder to "listen". The work uses the voices of Meg Sheppard, Alejandro Puente and Alcides Lanza. Some sounds were created using modules created by Hugh Le Caine. Composed at the composer's studio SHELAN, in Montreal, and finalized at the EMS, McGill University.
