The all wear light colored clothing, the girls in dresses, boys in pants, and all have short hair and some girls wear large bows in their hair. The girls all have short bobs and some have short straight bangs. All students look at the camera and hold their hands clasped together on their desks. At the bottom of the photograph is the photographer's inscription reading, "R.E. 1st Grade / Vickory School / Nov 1918." The photo is printed on a cream colored board, and the shape of the photograph is an oval with points coming out towards the top and bottom left and right corners. On the back of the photograph is an inscription with names of students numbered by row, and "Teacher - Miss Gage - later - Mrs."
