Patent for a new and improved planter. This design "relates to the construction of a planter so arranged that by simply shifting the connection between the corn-slide and the crank-arm of an agitator the device may be adjusted to act as a planter of corn or cotton, but a single connecting-rod being employed in connection with a single driving crank-shaft to operate the planter both as a cotton and a corn planter" (lines 8-16).

Patent for a combined bookcase and wardrobe cabinet, with illustrations. The purpose of the bookcase and wardrobe cabinet is to be "used as a bookcase, wardrobe, or show-case at will" (lines 10-11).

Patent for a new and improved planter. This design consists in "the combination of the main wheel and shaft, a dish-shaped disk mounted on the shaft, the inner side of said disk having a series of bolt-heads rigidly secured thereto, the bolts extending inward laterally and being provided with threaded ends, the main wheel being provided with openings for the reception of said bolts ends and the adjusting-nuts on both sides of said wheel" (lines 11-19).

Patent for a new and improved cotton chopper. This design "is to provide cotton-choppers constructed in such a manner that the cotton will be chopped to a stand by the passage of the machine along the rows of plants, leaving the hills of plants at uniform distances apart, and which shall be simple in construction, readily controlled, and convenient in use" (lines 17-24).

Patent for a new and improved jack. This design "relates to devices for raising fence-corners in repairing the same, and for lifting weights generally; and the object of [the] invention is to produce a simple and powerful device whereby a single operator can greatly increase his [or her] capacity for lifting heavy objects" (lines 8-14).

Patent for a new and improved sash lock. This design, "by means of a series of bolt-holes in both the upper sash and the frame the sashes can be held open for ventilation or securely locked in a closed position, as found desirable, and by means of the mortised seats and overhanging shoulders at the extremities of the slots, both the bolts can be drawn entirely within the casing and securely held in such position to enable both sashes to be raised or lowered at pleasure, and in the ordinary manner" (lines 75-84).

Patent for a new and improved planter. This design consists in "the combination, with a supporting-frame, of a revolving hopper, comprising circular heads connected by cross-bars having recesses, circular strips inclosing the cross-bars and leaving a space between their inner ends, flanges secured between and projecting through the circular strips and leaving a space between them, a slotted plate located on one of the bars of the frame and having its end located between the flanges, and a set-screw for clamping the plate in place" (lines 92-103).

Patent for a new and improved brick machine. This design consists in "a mold-wheel mounted to revolve in the horizontal plane and provided with mold-cavities, of a vertically-movable plunger in each cavity, a door for each cavity hinged on the top of the wheel, the hinge plate or lug attached to the mold-wheel being slotted to allow a vertical movement of the hinge-pin, a curved arm pivoted over the top of the mold-wheel and extending over part of the same, and a spring acting on the swinging end of said curved arm" (lines 80-90).

Patent for a new and improved cultivator. This design "is to provide an improved cultivator which can be very quickly and easily adjusted to adapt the device for marking out or laying off the roads or hills; to provide improved means whereby the shovels or blades are caused to always occupy the same relative position to each other, and adjust themselves when the beams of the harrow or cultivator are adjusted, and finally, to provide improved means for adjusting the shovels at any desired angle, so that they can enter or penetrate the soil to different depths" (lines 14-25).

Patent for a new and improved lunch bucket. This design consists in a "base-plate having sleeves upon two of its opposite edges, two rectangular-shaped bails secured at one end in said sleeves, the upper ends of each of said bails being bent inward or toward each other, the upper end of one of said bails being shorter than the other and bent slightly upward, and means for securing the upper ends of said bails together" (lines 1-8).

Patent for a new and improved fastener for plow joints. This design consists in a plow-body, as well as "a hook upon its under side, a lever pivotally secured to the under side of the mold-board, a spring secured to the standard, and a link secured to the free end of said spring and engaging with the rear end of said lever" (lines 1-6).

Patent for a new and improved fruit picker. This design consists in "two bags or receptacles [which] are secured upon an endless chain or cord, which passes over a pulley at the top of the pole of the picker and under a pulley near the lower end of the pole, so that the weight of one fruit picked and received in the bag will draw the other bag upward ready to receive another fruit, while the fruit in the descended bag may be removed from the said bag, which will thus be ready to ascend, when another fruit is picked" (lines 24-34).

Patent for a new and improved kneading machine. This design consists in "the elevated upright rollers having grooves near their lower ends, of the tray or receptacle having the surrounding ring or track entering the said grooves of said rollers and supporting said tray in an elevated position" (lines 73-78).

Patent for a new and improved nail receptacle. This design consists in "a carrying-frame having a cross-beam provided with a rack, in combination with a swinging receptacle journaled in the frame and having enlarged rear end normally resting against the beam to elevate the discharge end thereof, and a detaining bar or rod pivoted to the under side of and carried by the swinging receptacle, and having a projecting lip adapted to engage the rack and retain the receptacle in its adjusted position" (lines 38-48).

This design consists in "the upright frame supported on the beam and carrying the two pivoted arms, in combination with the wheel having studs on both sides, the wires, and the lever middle fastened to the agitator-shaft . . . a hopper having the circular excision in its bottom, of the horizontal feed-wheel and arms, fast to a vertical vibratory shaft" (lines 79-88).

Patent for a new and improved planter. This design consists in "the beam, of a hopper having the front hole, the elastic standards, beam bows or braces, and the eye-rod . . . Patent for a new and improved planter. This design "is an improvement in the class of walking planters. It is particularly adapted for sowing cotton-seed, but will also plant corn and distribute fertilizing material. The principle feature of the invention is the construction of the seed-discharging device arranged and rotating in the bottom of the seed-hopper. The construction of the latter and the frame of the machine likewise embody novel and important features" (lines 7-16).

Patent for a new and improved water heater and purifier. This design consists "[i]n the condenser, having the cover, the water-pipe and exhaust-steam pipe combined with the corrugated convex disk, whereby the water falls upon the disk and the steam enters beneath it" (lines 6-10).

Patent for a new and improved ant trap. This design "has for its object the production of a simple, cheap, and effective device whereby the ants are confined to a space within the circle of the trap, speedily captured, and exterminated. It consists in a trap constructed with a circular flanged pit provided with tubes leading therefrom to a central ant-receptacle; also, in the details of construction of the trap" (lines 8-16).
