This report asserts that the UNT Libraries has been making efforts to address the vestiges of systemic oppression of socially and politically minoritized populations. The project team members conducted a survey and a focus group, and they consulted with an advisory group consisting of representatives from the library, student affairs, and the professorate.

Data management plan for the grant, "Optic-nerve-head (ONH) Chips for Glaucomatous Neurodegeneration." The most prominent causative risk factor of glaucoma, the leading cause of irreversible blindness worldwide, is elevated intraocular pressure (IOP), which could deform the optic nerve head (ONH) and cause glaucomatous neurodegeneration. However, current glaucoma therapies that focus on lowering IOP do not stop vision loss effectively, and thus there is a pressing need to understand the mechanisms underlying glaucoma pathogenesis. In this project, we will develop a biomimetic 3-D ONH-on-a-chip system that closely mimics the key anatomical and pathophysiological characteristics of the native ONH to study astrocytic mechanisms of glaucoma pathogenesis, a missing link to develop efficacious therapies.

She speaks on her experiences with racism and discrimination in the LGBT community in Houston, and her creation of the Latina lesbian AMIGA organization. Morales also speaks on discrimination faced by the LGBT community due to penal code 21.06, a discriminatory sodomy law which made "homosexual conduct" illegal in the state of Texas.

Article discusses how a bifunctional peroxidase enzyme, 4-coumarate 3-hydroxylase (C3H/APX), provides a parallel route to the shikimate shunt pathway for the conversion of 4-coumarate to caffeate in the early steps of lignin biosynthesis. Here, a multi-omic approach was used to characterize molecular changes resulting from C3H/APX-KD associated lignin modification and negative growth phenotype in Brachypodium distachyon.

Article asserts that the overall performance of polymer composites depends on not only the intrinsic properties of the polymer matrix and inorganic filler but also the quality of interfacial adhesion. The authors report carbon fiber (CF)/epoxy composites with improved interfacial adhesion by covalent bonding between CFs and the epoxy matrix, which leads to the improved ultimate mechanical properties and enhanced thermal aging performance.

Article asserts that urban tree canopies are a significant sink for atmospheric elemental carbon (EC)--and air pollutant that is a powerful climate-forcing agent and threat to human health. The authors' findings indicate that complex configurations of roads, buildings, and vegetation produce “urban edge trees” that contribute to heterogeneous EC deposition patterns across urban systems, with implications for greenspace planning.

Phelps interviews William Waybourn over his experiences as a gay activist in Dallas in the 1970s and 1980s. Waybourn discusses the roll the Dallas Gay Political Caucus played in delivering services to the Dallas LGBT population. Waybourn also speaks on major events in Dallas LGBT history such as the case of Baker v. Wade, Mica England's battle against discrimination in the Dallas Police Department, and the AIDS crisis.

Article discusses how the Peace Council of Ghana ranks farmer–herder conflicts among the country's three most significant threats to peace. The literature the authors cite emphasizes natural factors contributing to farmer–herder conflicts, namely, climate change which results in environmental degradation and consequently leads to droughts, and food insecurity.

Article provides assemblage maps showing the elements related to creativity, innovation, and creativity and innovation. These assemblage maps highlight virtual and dynamic flight lines that represent potentially active components with varying intensity and direction, which provides a tool for managers and practitioners to identify potentialities for future predictions better.

The authors of the article used pheasants (Phasianus colchicus) across South Dakota, USA as a model species to identify environmental factors driving spatiotemporal variation in population productivity. They found that the amount of grassland at a local spatial scale was the primary factor influencing an area being a HotSpot.

Article describes the efficient and accurate identification of canopy gaps is the basis of forest ecosystem research, which is of great significance to further forest monitoring and management. One major limitation of the traditional methods of remote sensing to map canopy gaps is that they cannot finely extract the complex edges of canopy gaps in mountainous areas. The authors proposed an object-oriented classification method that integrates multi-source information.

Camp speaks on his involvement with the QCinema Film Festival and covers the history of gay and lesbian bars in Dallas and Fort Worth, specifically covering the affects sodomy laws had on such establishments. Camp discusses police behavior which led to court cases like Cyr v. Walls, a civil suit made against the Fort Worth Police Department due to their harassment of members at the Texas Gay Rights Conference in 1974.
