Grasshopper damage in the Chiskiska [sic] river valley. This area normally produces from 50 to 65 bushels of corn per acre in an average year. This was a promising corn field where the yield was 60 to 65 bushels of corn per acre in an average year."

This is corn with a buffer strip of clover. There was no run-off from this field during a 3 ¼ inch rain. The field is not terraced. This cooperator thought that it would be necessary to construct 6 to 8 miles of terraces on his farm, but there was no work done on this man's farm except the breaking down of his fields into smaller ones and farming them with the contour."
