Greenville Avenue, Elevated View 1927, Richardson, Texas

Elevated view of Greenville Avenue, looking south, probably from Main Street. In the foreground, on the right is a church with Polk St. behind it. On the left is the First United Methodist Church, which was built in 1898. One car is on Greenville Ave. A sidewalk runs along the right/west, side of Greenville Ave. In the background is Philips Street, with the Mount Calvary Baptist Church on the SE corner of the intersection, completed in 1886. The Richardson School building, opened in 1914, is on the SW corner. Greenville Avenue curves to the left/east at Philips. Numerous residences are also shown, as are utility poles.

[Insurance Refund Notification Upon Death of Jett Falls] (open access)

[Insurance Refund Notification Upon Death of Jett Falls]

A letter written Mr. Soloman Falls of Paris, Texas informing him of his son's (Jett -- Johnny, Jetty --- Falls) insurance benefits upon his death. The letter was issued by the Treasury Department on May 3rd, 1920 and details the amount paid by Mr. Soloman towards Jett Falls War Risk Insurance, and the amount owed to him upon his son's death. The amount owed was determined to be $65.16, and the letter states that future payments will occur in the amount of $57.50 each month. The letter is typed, and was written by R. H. Hallett, the Assistant Director in charge of Compensation and Insurance Claims Division.

[Heating unit under construction]

Photograph of a heating unit under construction at a factory in Hobbs, New Mexico. The unit was built and installed by Alcorn Combustion Company out of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, using materials provided by John Dollinger Jr., Inc. The steel framing of the structure is photographed having further steel materials placed within it. Factory buildings and piping systems can be seen in the background. Written on the back of the photo is "May 11, 1956 Job #749 Hobbs, N. Mex."

Photograph of the first barge purchased by John Dollinger Jr., Inc., anchored at the Port of Beaumont. The barge was purchased from U. S. Steel in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in 1949. A group of men are in the process of loading it with steel products with the help of a crane. In the background are warehouse buildings, a crane, and a watertower.
