The back of the photograph proclaims, "Post oak and Blackjack control on shallow savannah site, fair range condition class, prior to first treatment in 1956. First treatment consisted of 2 lbs. 2-4-5-T per acre and applied June 1, 1956. Second treatment was 1 lb. 2-4-5-T per acre applied July 1, 1957. This pasture was completely rested during the growing season in 1956 and 1957 and has now improved to good range condition class."

The picture shows the farm of Roger Stebbens which is under contract with the Soil Conservation Service. Visible in this picture is a herd of white-face cattle grazing on a contour ridged pasture near a farm pond. This herd, pasture and the pond were within full view of the crowd attending the field tour while eating lunch at noon and while listening to the addresses after lunch."
