Letter from Richard A. Ascher to Tex Bradford regarding a business transaction that is not fully described, but has cost Bradford money, and may also be related to Ascher's incarceration. Later correspondence verifies that Ascher was released from prison on Sept. 6, 1938. A handwritten note on the letter from the Parole Commission says, "Re = Stein Nozzles."

Letter from Harris Leon Kempner to Edward T. Hall regarding their visit to attend Sandy's graduation and then to New York. So, he requests if he could take Sandy along as his exams would be over by that time.

Letter from Harris Leon Kempner to Jean Louis Pesle thanking him for his note of May 3rd showing the interest in Shrub and Sandy in particular. He mentions that they'll leave New York on the 10th of June and will stay in England the rest of that month and then plan to arrive France in July. He thanks him for his kind offer to put up Shrub or Sandy.

Letter from I. H. Kempner to Jerry Thomas discussing Kempner's enjoyment at getting to see Jerry and Lyda Ann in Washington and discussing Thomas's opinion that the staff on the trip was underperforming but that the organization should still seek growth.

Letter to Cecile from her father, wishing her a happy birthday and discussing the conflict between China and Russia. He writes about Herbert, a relative in the military, who is expected to come back from overseas and Bell Kirkland, a Lieutenant Commander in the Navy as well as Browne Baker, a civilian working for the Navy in Washington. He also says that he plans to be in New York soon.
