A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas, from Tom Connally, United States Senate, dated April 1, 1947. Connally acknowledges the letter from Carswell and notes Carswell's approval of the President's program for aiding Greece and Turkey. He advises that he supports the matter and has enclosed a copy of a speech which he made in the Senate on this subject. Typewritten on U.S. Senate letterhead bearing U S Eagle watermark. Enclosure included: Congressional Record - Proceedings and Debates of the 80th Congress, First Session. Aid for Greece, Speech of Hon. Tom Connally of Texas in the Senate of the United States, dated Tuesday, March 25, 1947.

Radford expresses his appreciation for the letter from Carswell of March the 6th in which he said so many nice things about him, but he advises that "you do not find many men in this day and age who are square shooters". A letter addressed to "Tom Carlson" [T. N. Carswell], Abilene, Texas from Seomare Westfull, Carthage, Mo., dated April 26, 1947. Westfull requests a statement from Carswell to vouch for his integrity. In a postscript, he requests that Carswell send the original to Roy E. Mayes, President of the Carthage Marble Corp and the copy to him. Carswell makes note that he answered as requested in as helpful a way as he knew how.

Carswell expresses his pleasure for Mrs. Radford on the decision she made in a memorial gift in Mr. Radford's name to McMurry College [Radford Auditorium]. He briefly summarizes the man and the service by J. M. Radford and Mrs. Radford to the city of Abilene.

Wright requests that White serve as chairman of the Denominational Committee and names the men that will serve with him: T. N. Carswell, vice-chairman, M. A. Jenkens, P. D. O'Brien, Vernon Yearby, Henry A. Littleton, T. A. Patterson, J. Ralph Grant.
