Letters between Dr. John W. Spies, Homer P. Rainey, and Dr. Meyer Bodansky concerning Dr. Meyer Bodansky's approval for a request of absence in order to attend and present his research at the Missouri State Medical Association meeting. The second letter is dated April 22, 1941 from Homer P. Rainey, the president of the the Medical Branch of the University of Texas in Galveston. It addresses Dr. John W. Spies and approves the request he sent in previously to excuse Dr. Meyer Bodansky for the conference. The first letter is addressed to Dr. Meyer Bodansky from Dr. John W. Spies on April 25, 1941. It informs him that approval for his absence has been received.

Dr. Bodansky notes several reasons to not choose Galveston, but instead to look in a multitude of other places first. Dr. Hertz's attached letter denotes finding Dr. Bodansky through a fellow fraternity brother and asks for advice as Dr. Hertz wishes to relocate to Texas to begin his medical career.

Letters between Dr. Meyer Bodansky, Dr. John W. Spies, and Dr. James W. McClendon, dated from April 27 to August 14, 1939. The letter that is dated August 14, 1939, which is from Dr. Spies, explains that he is returning the two letters addressed to and from Dr. McClendon to Dr. Bodansky. The letter from Dr. McClendon to Dr. Spies is typed on a Court of Civil Appeals letterhead. It requests that someone review a medical research book written by his brother The letter to Dr. McClendon from Dr. Bodansky, who was asked to review the book, includes an analysis and a note of congratulations. Two copies of this analysis are included in the document.
