Sandefer expresses his appreciation to Carswell for his love, devotion and the many things he has done for his parents through the years noting that they had loved Carswell as much as their own. He advises that this is his 35th Tour of the Nation with his "current outfit" stating that the Lord has been good to him and he has always loved him, more now if possible, that he may not get to heaven by following a Baptist book but will take that chance. He asks after Byrdie [Byrdie Carswell] and expresses his gratitude for Carswell's friendship through the years.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell and Mr. Harvey Brown, Abilene, Texas from "Jake" [J. D. Sandefer, Jr.], Breckenridge, Texas, dated April 19, 1965. Copy to Grace Compere, Gib Sandefer and Bill J. Walker. Sandefer expresses the appreciation from Grace, Gib and himself for the flowers that Carswell and Brown placed on his parent's graves and advises of his "acquired knowledge" that A. J. Morgan had planted the bluebonnets years ago.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas, from Lila Fern Martin, City Secretary, City of Abilene, dated April 10, 1962. A letter written to Mr. Carswell from Lucie K. Whitehead, The Rice Hotel, Houston 2, Texas. Whitehead expresses her appreciation to Carswell for taking care of the payment of the income tax, advises of checks that have been enclosed and asks for the amount owed for his income tax services. Carswell noted that he answered on April 7, 1969.

A letter written to "Nonie" [Nora Whiting] from T. N. and Byrdie Carswell, dated April 2, 1969. Carswell offers Easter greetings. "A rainbow from deep in my heart, weighted with all the promise of old. The fabled bags of gold are missing. But in lieu thereof are snow white silver chalices. In the softly tinted and scented ever ascending halo from these chalices you will come better to know the measure and depth of gratitude I convey to you on this Easter Day."

A letter written to Sarah Anna Simmons Crane from T. N. Carswell, dated April 21, 1960. Carswell expresses his appreciation for all the "notes" from Crane which brought "memories of a now far off wonder day, the springtime of your life and mine". He advises of the generosity of her grandparents as to the reason he received his college degree and her Dad, whom he met and loved, was also a benefactor of Simmons. Carswell advises that conditions are quite different out at Simmons, that he is no longer a trustee having resigned some years earlier after Dr. Richardson resigned as president. He requests that she take the attached check and go to a show and dinner "for the sake of old lang syne".

A letter written to "Aun't Virginia" [Byrdie Carswell] and "Uncle Norwood" [T. N. Carswell] from Tom & Virginia, Tampa, Florida, dated April 8, 1969. Tom and Virginia offer their greetings to the Carswells, ask after their health and note that they do not hear from anyone at the old home place in Georgia.
