Dielectric Constant and Electrical Resistivity of Natural-State Cores (open access)

Dielectric Constant and Electrical Resistivity of Natural-State Cores

The following report covers measurements of electrical resistivity and dielectric constant that were made on parts of 27 cores from the Morrison formation in the Colorado Plateau uranium province as part of a program to obtain basic data on the physical properties of the rock in and near uranium-mineralized zones.

Laboratory Study of Uranium-Bearing Carbonaceous Shale and Impure Coal from Goose Creek District, Cassia County, Idaho

The following report describes the petrography of uranium-bearing carbonaceous shale and a non-uranium-bearing impure coal from two of the drill cores that were used to explore the underground extent of the east-central part of the Goose Creek district.

Reconnaissance of Geology and Uranium Occurrences of the Upper Alamosa Creek Valley : Catron County, New Mexico (open access)

Reconnaissance of Geology and Uranium Occurrences of the Upper Alamosa Creek Valley : Catron County, New Mexico

From abstract: "The Crevasse Canyon formation and Point Lookout(?) sandstone of Late Cretaceous age and the Baca and Datil formations of Tertiary age were mapped in an area of 168 square miles in the upper Alamosa Creek Valley along the northern edge of the Datil Mountains, Catron County, N. Mex. The investigation was made to determine the potentialities of the area for producing uranium and to learn the geologic controls for the concentration of uranium."

Uranium Series Disequilibrium in Radioactive Ores (open access)

Uranium Series Disequilibrium in Radioactive Ores

From introduction: The purposes of this paper are to tabulate and discuss the results of a number of complete disequilibrium analyses, to illustrate a proposed classification of disequilibrium patterns, to study these disequilibria as clues to the understanding of the geochemical history of the samples and of the deposits, and to point out some of the difficulties when simply comparing radioactivity and chemical uranium assays for interpreting equilibrium or disequilibrium in samples.
