The towns folk of Princess Anne are trying to throw Littleton Dennis Teackle off the board of the local bank. She encloses a poem she wrote about the Prussian campaign in Russia of 1812, which she read about in a book by Sir Robert Ker Porter.

She talks about a visit from Thomas Wilkinson, the son of Gen. Wilkinson, and says he's very good-looking and dressed like he's in the "meddlesome" navy.
