The results of this analysis will provide planners and managers in Routt County with information for determining the waste-load capacities of the study reach for possible design and operational alternatives of future wastewater-treatment plants.

This is a letter from the Charles B. Moore Collection. It is written by Anna Boyd and is addressed to Charles B. Moore. She informs Moore about the reasons for the family's delay in continuing correspondence with the Moore family since their visit to Colorado. In this letter, Boyd discusses the weather's affect on their crops for this spring. She details the failures they had last season due to grasshoppers and hopes that this season would be better than the last. She notes that they did not have much success with fruit, though the gooseberry harvest looks promising. She mentions to Moore what the family plans to sow this season and tells him that they are all well at present. The envelope is included with the letter.

Interview with Vaughn Bercaw, a veteran of the U.S. Air Force from East Lansing, Michigan who served in Germany during the Cold War and Thailand in the early days of the Vietnam War. Bercaw describes his training in basic aircraft weapon systems and experiences on various missions in both wars, including life upon returning to the United States.

This is a letter from the Charles B. Moore Collection. It is written by Lula Dalton and is addressed to Linnet Moore. In this letter , Lula informs Linnet of the goings-on in her community. The news includes: a discussion about sewing, a dialogue about attending church with friends and details about the attending couples, and updates about club meetings. She closes the letter and sends her love to Linnet. In Lula's next letter, written on Tuesday night April 25, 1899, she details that she hope Linnet is doing well. She notes she finished working on her wrapper and read Linnet's most recent letter. She closes the Tuesday's letter and continue to write on the same page, beginning a letter on Wednesday April 26, 1899. She informs Linnet of the happening since she last wrote and notes she has written a letter to Mr. Taylor. She mentions the situation about Jim's letter and assures Linnet she had not part in the letter. She states that she wishes she could see Linnet and talk about the situation. She continues the letter by noting community deaths and news.

From abstract: An investigation of the use of geophysical methods in prospecting for carnotite deposits in the Colorado Plateau was made by the Geophysics Branch of the U. S. Geological Survey between April 21 and June 24, 1949. Results of this preliminary work indicated that electrical resistivity methods could be used successfully.

4,231 miles of high sensitivty airborne radiometric and magnetic data were gathered in southwestern Colorado. Data were collected on traverse lines 1/4 mile apart and on tie lines of approximately 6 mile spacing in five seperate detail areas primarily within the Montrose 1° x 2° sheet. All data were fully reduced and interpered by geoMetrics and are presented as six volumes in this final report.

Purposes of study and report: This report presents the results of a continuing study conducted by the U.S. Geological Survey in cooperation with the Denver Board of Water Commissioners. Purposes of the study are: (l) To define the amounts of net evaporation losses from the Denver storage reservoirs; and (2) to conduct experiments for improving methods for measuring evaporation, particularly at reservoirs at high elevations.

Introduction: Vanadium ore is being mined at many places in western Colorado, southeastern Utah, northeastern Arizona, and northwestern New Mexico (fig. 1). Eight mills in this region produced about 4,300,000 pounds of V2 05 in 1942, representing about 90 percent of the vanadium obtained from domestic sources. Although ore production has mostly exceeded mill capacity since 1937, production during the last half of 1942 averaged only about 19,000 tons or ore a month, whereas the capacity of these mills total about 22,000 tons a month. At the expected rate of ore production, ore stockpiles will be exhausted sometime in 1944, and these mills will then have excess capacity. With more intensive prospecting than now practiced, however, it is believed that sufficient reserves can be indicated to sustain capacity operation of these mills for several years. This memorandum is prepared to specify those areas that are considered most favorable from a geologic standpoint for developing large reserves of vanadium ore by prospecting. It is based on intensive studies by the Geological Survey since 1939 in most of the areas that produce vanadium ore.
