Car-Coupling.
Patent for a car coupling that "couples automatically and by which a brakeman on a single car can uncouple one or more cars and to provide pipe connections between the cars for this and other purposes" (lines 9-13). It has a pivoted drawhead with lever connections to a piston head and uses steam connections with the cylinder in the piston head to couple.

Photograph of the front of an old light wood building surrounded with plant overgrowth. The building is facing toward the lefthand side, and has a crude fence made of thick branches encircling the right side. The entrance consists of closed double doors, an awning above, and stairs leading up to a small landing in front of the doors. The roof of another building is visible next to this building on the other side of a fence. The front yard of the building is sparse grass and a thin dirt pathway. There is a dirt road in front of the building. On the righthand side next to the fence, there are two large trees and shrubs. Handwriting on the back of the photograph reads, "Lockhart". There is an upside-down stamp also on the back that indicates the publisher and publication date and city.

Funeral program for Sister Vera Smith, died April 8, 1965. The funeral was held April 14, 1965 at Emmanuel A. M. E. Church, officiated by Reverend B. T. Langham. Funeral arrangements were made through the Lewis Funeral Home and she was buried in Atlanta Cemetery in Luling, Texas.

Hose or Pipe Coupling.
Patent for a hose or pipe coupling meant to "provide a coupling of great simplicity of construction forming a tight and efficient connection by which the hose can be connected without turning it, without the screwing together of the sections and without a loose washer within one of the couplings which is readily lost and quickly gets out of order" (lines 12-19).
